Apology Regarding Breach of Personal Information due to Unauthorized Access to the Graduate School Building Meeting Room Reservation System

It has recently been confirmed that unauthorized external access was made to the meeting room reservation system for the Graduate School Building at Shonan Fujisawa Campus.
Our investigations have concluded that the personal information of users may have been leaked due to unauthorized access, which mainly took place on April 12, 2021.

The personal information that may have been leaked is as follows.

Although there is a possibility that other systems were also accessed without authorization, after carefully examining the log files and other records, no breaches of personal data have been confirmed at this time.

We have also made an appropriate report concerning this data breach to the relevant government ministries and agencies.

In light of this incident of unauthorized access, Keio University is urgently taking measures to prevent its recurrence, and we will make every effort to further strengthen security across the whole university in collaboration with external specialist organizations.
