On-Campus International Student Dormitory "H (Eta) Village" Completion Ceremony

On Monday, February 27, the completion ceremony for Keio University's only on-campus international student dormitory, "H (Eta) Village", was held at Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC). The completion ceremony was attended by the operating company, design/site supervision company, construction company, facility management company, and the cafeteria operating company, as well as from Keio University, President Itoh, Vice-President Tsuchiya, Vice-President Okada, Dean Kamo of the Faculty of Policy Management, Dean Ichinose of the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Dean Takeda of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care, and Dean Kato of the Graduate School of Media and Governance.

H Village is a mixed international student dormitory that can house 300 international and Japanese students living together in 5-person units. Students will start moving in from mid-March, and put the dormitory concept of "living while learning, and learning while living" into practice. The dormitory's design, which blends seamlessly with the other buildings on campus, was by Maki & Associates, and consists of one common building and four residential buildings. Each of the five buildings are named after different herbs and spices. We hope that these house names will lend to the residents of each dorm developing their own unique culture.
