Master's Program: Application for Career Professionals

Applicants who are facing difficulties with their application, such as not being able to submit their Certificate of Graduation or Academic Transcript, due to the spread of the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) should contact the Admissions Office (gao-request@sfc.keio.ac.jp).

If there are any changes to the application process, announcements will be made on the Graduate School of Media and Governance website. Please check for announcements regularly.

Schedule

Application procedures for entrance examinations

The following is an outline of the entrance examination. Make sure to download an application guidebook to confirm the application details and procedures.

  1. Check the eligibility requirements

    Check the eligibility requirements in the application guidebook.

  2. Decide on the Program

    Decide the Program you wish to join.

  3. Obtain consent from a Graduate School Committee member

    Prior to making an application, contact a Graduate School Committee member of the Program you wish to join and complete Step 1 through 3 with them.

    Step1: Discuss research plan over email.
    Step2: Step2: Take an online interview (between the applicant and the Graduate School Committee member) such as on Zoom
    Step3: Request them to fill in a "Research Supervisor Acceptance Form" and receive their informal consent.

    If you do not have contact information of the Graduate School Committee member, fill out the faculty contact form and submit it.

  4. Prepare the application documents

    Prepare the documents required for the application.

    For the Research Plan, refer to the sample below. However, it is not required to use the same format.

  5. Complete online applications

    Access the Admission Web Entry System and fill in the required information.
    *Check the application guidebook for the URL of the Admission Web Entry System.

  6. Make payment of application fee

    Access the URL in the application guidebook and confirm the procedures to make the payment of the application fee by money order (郵便為替). Note that you cannot pay the application fee unless application documents have been submitted online.

  7. Submit an application

    Send the application documents by post within the application period. They must arrive by the last day of the application period if sent from overseas.

  8. Print out the examination slip
  9. Confirm the First-round results

    Confirm the first-round screening results on the Admission Web Entry System.

  10. Interview

    An interview will be held for the applicants who passed the first-round examination.

  11. Confirm the results

    Confirm the screening results on the Admission Web Entry System.
