[Important] Changes to the Entrance Examination for the Graduate School of Media and Governance (Master's Program) Starting in Academic Year 2020 and after

Starting in Academic Year 2020, the following changes will be made to the entrance examination for the Graduate School of Media and Governance.
Refer to the application guidebook for details (to be released at the end of March 2020).

Ⅰ. Those who apply to the Master’s Program within Japan: Changes to the application process and application documents

The changes to the process are as follows. The changes are underlined.
1.Carefully refer to the application guidebook.
2.Discuss your research plan thoroughly with the graduate school committee member of the Program you wish to participate in and obtain consent from them to act as your Research Supervisor. Discussion should include:
  a) Your Research theme
  b) Timeframe for research and acquiring your degree
  c) Your style of research within the Program you wish to join
  d) What is expected of you as a Program member  and so on
3.Register on the Admission Web Entry System, submit the Application Documents Submitted Online, and print out the Applicant Entry Form.
4.Pay the application fee.
5.Send the Application Documents Submitted by Postal Mail to the Admissions Office. Applications that arrive after the application period will not be accepted.
In accordance with the above changes, you are now required to submit a Letter of Acceptance to Act as a Research Supervisor in addition to the other application documents.
Recommendation letters are not accepted for applications within Japan.
Prior to the application, applicants must discuss their research plan with the graduate school committee member who belongs to their desired program and obtain consent from them to act as their supervisor.

Applicants should contact graduate school committee members as early as possible as they may not be available to supervise research due to reasons such as retirement, overseas research, or incompatibility of your research topic.

Ⅱ. Evaluation Report for all Application Methods (Application within Japan/Application from Overseas/Application for Career Professionals)

<Changes>
An Evaluation Report must be submitted as one of the required application documents.
Applicants should have an evaluator of their choice write and submit the Evaluation Report. Your Research Supervisor cannot be an evaluator. 
Applicants are required to submit at least one Evaluation Report. They can request and send up to three Evaluation Reports.
Applicants need to apply for an Evaluation Report through the Admission Web Entry System.
The process for preparing the Evaluation Report is described in the Application Guidebook, which will be released in late-March 2020 (tentative).
