Advanced IT Specialist Course

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan (MEXT) has selected the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University's "Advanced IT Specialist Program" as the "Leading IT Specialist Training Promotion Program" for 2006.
This MEXT business program was established to support and promote the graduate schools in Japan to build an educational environment for training students who can become highly skilled IT professionals.

This project was established in collaboration with the academia, industry, and NPOs; such as the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University, the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Keio University, the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Major in Information Network, Waseda University, the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Chuo University, the Graduate School of Information Security, Institute of Information Security, NTT, IBM Japan, and Mozilla Japan. The Advanced IT Specialist Program, conducted by the selected members from six organizations, will be based on the standardized curriculums established in the aforementioned Graduate Schools.

The goal of this project is to train specialists with practical IT skills, such as constructing advanced networks, large-scale distributed systems, and new IT application systems. By participating in research projects and internship programs, students will be able to acquire practical skills in the field of information technology. The combined project training gives students an idea of how to analyze, evaluate, and verify systems. They will also be able to develop a broad vision and play a significant role in a specific area.

A standardized IT Specialist Certificate will be awarded to students who successfully complete the Master's Program.
