The History of Educational Implementation
Keio University has implemented education based on problem-finding / problem-solving, a method suited to future circumstances, at the Keio SFC (the Faculty of Policy Management and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies) since 1990. At that time, this implementation played a leading role in the areas of AO examination, foreign language education, and information literacy education. Moreover, the Graduate School of Media and Governance as well as the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care have been established, and this educational implementation has been applied thoroughly to various, more advanced situations. The leading information network environment allows the faculty members and students to perform advanced technical study. In order to create a system that integrates research and education, we emphasized Research Projects and reorganized the curriculum by introducing a cluster-oriented system instead of registration according to each student%%s academic year. Towards the year 2008, which is the 150th anniversary of the founding of Keio University, education based on problem-finding / problem-solving will continued to be implemented by improving the ubiquitous environment, supporting venture business development, promoting on-line cooperation with Asian countries, and cooperating with the local community in order nurture personnel to contribute to society as well as to be self-reliant.
