21st SFC Aki Matsuri (SFC Fall Festival)

28 November 2012

The 21st annual Aki Matsuri (SFC Fall Festival), a seasonal tradition here at Keio University Shonan Fujisawa Campus, was held on Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14, 2012.

This year’s festival was based on the theme of “Fall Connections”, and over 6000 people accepted the invitation to take the time to enjoy the SFC Fall Festival before the busy Christmas and end-of-year season hits. A collaborative event was planned with the soon-to-be-released “Nerawareta Gakuen”, an anime adaption of a story set in a local junior high school in the nearby city of Kamakura. In keeping with the Shonan-area connections, the main stage was set alight with a performance by HAN-KUN, singer and member of the musical group “Shonan no Kaze”.

After a hot and sunny day on Saturday, the festival was illuminated by candle light on the first night. Day two saw a change in weather, but despite the rainy skies, the festival successfully came to a close with the customary fireworks display on Sunday night.
