Exchange Program for Students from University of Halle (Germany) – Notice of Welcome Party for Students (February 29)

28 February 2012

During this spring break period, we will be receiving a group of exchange students from Germany. This year marks seven years since relations between SFC and the students’ university, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, commenced, and the fourth time that a student exchange agreement with Keio University has been concluded (Reference: http://deutsch.sfc.keio.ac.jp/) (Japanese only). In 2010, a double degree program agreement (Master’s) was concluded with the Graduate School of Media and Governance.

Each year, in February and March, a two-way student exchange for fieldwork activities is carried out. This year we are welcoming three undergraduate and two graduate students, who will be working together on various fieldwork activities with SFC students taking German language courses. The group members are all outstanding students with a keen interest in learning Japanese and researching about Japan. In particular, it is hoped that this year’s group can contribute to the activities of the Keio Research Institute at SFC’s Japanese Studies Platform Laboratory (http://www.sfc.keio.ac.jp/en/faculty/news/20111007_2.html).

Details of the welcome party for the exchange students are as follows. Anyone with an interest in the student exchange is welcome to attend at their own leisure.
